Tiff and Chelsi here. We wanted to let you know that the official posting process of the re-write of 'The Cannonball Trilogy' part one began on 02-10-07. And, on 09-14-07, we made the move to livejournal, to make things easier for us, and you.
The re-write has been a long time coming. After we completed the original story "Cannonball" in 2004, we felt it lacked a lot, but we were too excited to work on its sequel(s) to do anything about it. Over time, however, we'd read it back and go "eh," because we knew we could have done better. Here we are, nearly three years later, doing what we should have done in the beginning.
The original stories are now offline, as we want the sole focus to be on the new re-written version. The story will be completely new. A few [classic] scenes and some of the dialogue will be the same, but the story will basically be brand-new. The plot will have changed, expect that. The characters you have come to know and love, however, will be the same...some of the will just have a little more substance and others will be slightly less manic. We're trying hard to be sure to connect any dots we left hanging, to fill any holes. Overall, we are making it more solid, because it was driving us insane.
The story is now divided into three major parts PART ONE (original 'Cannonball,') PART TWO (original 'Broken Road,') and PART THREE (original 'Crash.') Don't get confused, you're not going insane! We did this because we thought it would make more sense. We're also changing the time frame of everything so its more realistic, hence the need for title changes.
A while ago, this story had quite a regular following. We hope those of you who have been with us for years will come back and read this version. (We'll be re-writing the sequels as well.) And we hope those of you who are new to the story, and/or new to hanfic will like it and connect with the characters as much as we have.
Keep in mind that the writing process is an on-going one. Meaning we are posting what we've done. Before, we'd written the entire story/stories before they were ever posted. We're going to try to be as timely as possible, with a maximum of two weeks between each update - but likely less.
We hope you like what we're up to....
